One of my favourite spots in New York is the Highline, a public space and garden path built on a disused railway track. Seeing the city from a different perspective and allowing nature to revitalise a disused space. Wouldn’t it be incredible to have a Highline in London too? I rememberd the beautiful garden Piet Oudolf the landscape designer behind the Highline had enchanted us in the Serpentine Pavillion with Peter Zumthor 2 summers ago. The Highline also reminded me of the work of the British garden designer Dan Pearson, who gave a fantastic lecture on commitment and gardens at the School of Life in London just over a year ago.
